How It Works

The S-Type Load Cell operates by converting mechanical force into an electrical signal. When a force is applied, the internal strain gauges deform slightly, producing a change in electrical resistance that is proportional to the load. This signal is then transmitted via the included four-wire cable to a compatible data readout system (sold separately), providing accurate, real-time force measurements.

Applications

• Compression Tests: Mount the load cell between the load frame and testing apparatus for unconfined compression or CBR/LBR tests, ensuring precise measurement of compressive forces.
• Direct-Shear Tests: Position the load cell between the shear box and a fixed point on the loading frame to accurately measure both compression and tension during shear testing.
• Other Applications: Compatible with triaxial shear, Marshall stability, indirect tensile, Lottman, and SCB tests. Ensure uniform contact between the load cell and testing fixtures for optimal accuracy.
