The Marshall Compactor is a high-performance, mechanical compaction unit designed to prepare hot mix asphalt specimens for a range of critical tests, including Marshall stability and flow, specific gravity, and void content testing. Utilizing a stationary 4in (101.6mm) mold and delivering 55 blows per minute (BPM), this compactor is engineered to produce accurate, reliable, and uniform Marshall test specimens. Key Features
Precision Compaction The mechanical compactor uses a flat-faced hammer powered by a robust 3/4hp motor, which lifts the hammer to the exact height required for each blow. The programmable electric controller allows for blow counts to be set anywhere between 1 and 999, giving you full control over the compaction process. Real-time display of current blow count and BPM ensures accurate monitoring throughout testing.
Automatic Stop Function Once the set number of blows has been reached, the digital controller automatically stops the hammer, preventing over-compaction and ensuring consistent specimen preparation. This feature also allows the mold to be easily inverted for compaction on the opposite side, guaranteeing the same number of blows on each face for uniform results.
Enhanced Safety The fully enclosed design minimizes operator exposure to moving parts, making it a safer option for laboratory environments. A safety interlock system ensures the compactor will not operate unless the door is properly closed and latched. An emergency stop (E-stop) button is also included, allowing operators to immediately cut power in the event of an emergency.
