The Gilson Mechanical Marshall Compactor is a reliable and precise solution for preparing hot mix asphalt specimens for Marshall stability and flow, specific gravity, and void content testing. Utilizing a 4in rotating mold and delivering 64 blows per minute (BPM), this compactor is built to produce accurate and consistent test specimens every time.

Durable Construction

Built to withstand the demands of rigorous testing environments, the Marshall Compactor features heavy-duty construction powered by a 3/4hp electric motor. This motor lifts the 10lb (4.6kg) bevel-faced hammer to the precise height for each blow, ensuring accuracy throughout the compaction process.

User-Programmable Electronic Controller

The compactor is equipped with a user-programmable electronic controller that allows you to set the number of blows between 1 and 999. The controller automatically stops the hammer when the compaction process is complete, allowing the mold to be inverted for compaction on the opposite side. This feature ensures a uniform number of blows is applied for consistent specimen preparation. The current blow count and BPM are displayed in real time during testing, providing full visibility into the compaction process.

Enhanced Safety Features

Safety is a top priority in the design of the Gilson Mechanical Marshall Compactor. The unit is fully enclosed, minimizing exposure to moving parts. A safety interlock system ensures the door is securely latched before the unit can operate, reducing the risk of injury. An emergency stop (E-stop) button is also included, which instantly cuts power in case of an emergency, providing an added layer of protection for operators.

Easy Mold Securing System

The compactor features Gilson's exclusive easy clamp mold securing system, making it simple and quick to secure the mold in place for compaction. This system also makes it easy to remove the mold after compaction, saving time and improving workflow efficiency. Additional mold and hammer assemblies can be ordered to preheat components for an even more efficient workflow.

Versatile Specimen Preparation

This model can easily convert to compact 6in samples with the optional 6in Marshall Conversion Kit, offering versatility in specimen preparation. This makes the Gilson Mechanical Marshall Compactor a cost-effective solution for laboratories that need to prepare both 4in and 6in specimens.
