Grade 55 Filter Paper is a fast-filtering, hardened ash-grade paper designed for soil testing applications, including triaxial shear strength and flexible-wall permeability tests. It prevents soil fines from migrating and protects porous stones from blockage during testing.

Ahlstrom Grade 55 is equivalent to Whatman Grade 54 and is recommended in various ASTM and AASHTO soil testing methods. This high-purity filter paper offers excellent resistance to strong acids and alkalis, enhanced wet strength, and a smooth, durable surface free of loose fibers. With a 15µm retention and filtration speed of 220ml/min, pre-cut circular filters come in packs of 100.
