Proper Wiring for Accurate Measurements
When using thermocouples, it's crucial that the extension wire material matches the thermocouple type (e.g., type K) to maintain accuracy and consistency in temperature readings. If a transmitter is integrated within the thermocouple sensor assembly, standard copper wire can be used instead of thermocouple extension wire to transmit the scalable 4 to 20 mA signal to process control equipment.
For RTD sensors, regular copper instrumentation cable is used to send the resistance signal to the control, readout, or recording device. If a transmitter is installed within the RTD sensor assembly, copper wire is similarly used to transmit the 4 to 20 mA signal. Proper wiring ensures accurate data transmission and optimal system performance.
