Miniature Male Plug, 3-Pin RTD, 200°C Max Temperature (10/Pack)
Overview: These high-quality miniature male plugs are designed specifically for 3-wire RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) sensor applications. Rated for temperatures up to 200°C (392°F), these connectors provide a secure, reliable, and convenient method for connecting RTD sensors to extension cables or instrumentation. The 3-pin configuration ensures compatibility with standard RTD circuits, which typically include two pins for the resistance signal and a third for lead wire compensation, improving measurement accuracy. Sold in convenient packs of 10, they are ideal for both new installations and routine maintenance.
Key Features:
- Connector Type: Miniature Male Plug
- Sensor Compatibility: 3-Pin RTD
- Maximum Temperature: 200°C (392°F)
- Pins: Solid, round pins ensure a firm and consistent connection.
- Housing: Constructed from durable, high-temperature glass-filled thermoplastic for stability in demanding environments.
- Ease of Use: Features a write-on window for easy labeling and identification of circuits.
- Secure Connection: Designed for a quick and secure connection with corresponding female miniature connectors.
General Information on Sensor Wiring:
RTD Sensors: RTD sensors measure temperature based on changes in electrical resistance. They typically use standard copper instrumentation cable to transmit this resistance signal to a recording, readout, or control device. If a transmitter is integrated into the RTD sensor assembly, it converts the resistance reading into a standardized (4 to 20) mA analog signal. This signal is then sent back to the process control equipment using ordinary copper wire.
Thermocouple (TC) Sensors: Unlike RTDs, thermocouples require specific extension wire materials that must precisely match the alloys used in the positive and negative legs of the thermocouple (e.g., Type K wire for a Type K thermocouple). Using the wrong wire type can introduce errors into the temperature reading. Similar to RTDs, if a transmitter is used within the thermocouple assembly, standard copper wire is used to carry the (4 to 20) mA signal to the control system.
Comprehensive Wiring Solutions: Pyromation is your source for a wide range of wiring and insulation needs. We stock various sizes and gauges of both thermocouple-grade and extension wire, along with RTD cable and wire insulators. We can also provide special construction wire and multi-pair extension cables to meet the unique requirements of your application.
