Miniature Female Jack Connector, Type T Thermocouple, 200°C Temperature Rating (Sold in Packs of 10)
Our Thermocouple and RTD Miniature Connectors are engineered for reliability and precision in temperature sensing applications. These connectors are available in various types, including J, K, T, and RTD, all designed to withstand a maximum temperature of 200°C (392°F).
Key Considerations for Installation:
- Matching Extension Wire: It is crucial that the extension wire material corresponds exactly to the materials used in the positive and negative legs of your thermocouple. For instance, a Type K thermocouple requires a Type K extension wire to ensure accurate signal transmission and prevent measurement errors.
- Use with Transmitters: When a transmitter is integrated into the thermocouple sensor assembly, standard copper wire is generally used instead of thermocouple extension wire. The transmitter converts the thermocouple's millivolt signal into a scalable (4 to 20) mA analog signal, which is then sent back to the process control equipment. This setup is common in industrial environments for its noise immunity over long distances.
- RTD Sensor Wiring: Unlike thermocouples, RTD sensors utilize standard copper instrumentation cable to transmit their resistance-based signal to the control or readout device. If a transmitter is installed within the RTD sensor assembly, it will also use copper wire to send a scalable (4 to 20) mA signal back to the process control system.
Comprehensive Wire and Cable Solutions:
Pyromation offers a wide selection of thermocouple grade and extension wire in various sizes and gauges to meet your specific needs. We also provide wire insulators and can supply special construction thermocouple wire and RTD cable, including options for multi-pair thermocouple extension wire, to support complex installations.
