K Slump Tester
The K Slump Tester is used to get an approximate fresh concrete slump and workability, as an alternative to the slump cone. Insert the tester into the fresh concrete up to the disc. After 40 seconds, lower the measuring rod until it rests on the surface of the concrete that went into the tester. Read the K Slump on the scale. Remove the tester and read the workability on the scale at the height of fresh concrete in the tester. Readings are good when 6in (152mm) or more of fresh concrete surrounds the tester. Instructions and correlation charts included.
The K Slump Tester is a quick alternative to the slump cone test.

Q: How do I use the K Slump Tester?
A: Insert the K Slump Tester into the concrete up to the disc. After 40 seconds, lower the measuring rod until it rests on the surface of the concrete. Read the K Slump Tester on the scale or with a tamping rod and a correlation chart.
What is a K Slump Tester?
A K Slump Tester is a must have in the construction industry to quickly get an approximate slump and workability of fresh concrete. This is a great tool to get a fast approximate slump and workability of wet concrete for in-place testing. By measuring the flow of concrete the K Slump Tester ensures the concrete mix is suitable for various construction applications and ultimately the quality and durability of the finished product.
Q: Is the K Slump Tester good for concrete workability in slump test?
A: Yes, the K Slump Tester (includes correlation chart) is a reliable alternative to traditional slump cone test sets and provides fast approximate slump and workability of wet concrete for in-place testing.
Features and Operation of K Slump Tester
The K Slump Tester has a calibrated hollow tube 20mm diameter and a precise measuring rod. To use the tester insert it into the fresh concrete up to the disc. After 40 seconds lower the measuring rod until it rests on the surface of the concrete that has entered the tester. Read the K Slump value on the scale and the workability value is the height of the concrete retained in the tester. The K Slump Tester comes with correlation chart and instructions for reference to interpret the test results and determine the workability of the concrete.
Q: What is the size of the measuring rod on the K Slump Tester?
A: The K Slump Tester probe (includes correlation chart) is 0.75in diameter and 12in high. Perfect for in-place measurements and slump testing.
The K Slump Tester is also used for concrete sampling and test molds.
-
In-place measurements for test molds and slump testing.
Applications and Benefits of K Slump Tester
The K Slump Tester is used for in-place measurements of forms and test molds, it has a correlation to the traditional slump test. The probe measures the workability of the concrete and the degree of compaction after it has been placed in the forms. This makes the K Slump Tester a must have for wet concrete sampling, it gives accurate and reliable results. The benefits of K Slump Tester:
-
Fast approximate determination
-
In-place measurements for quick testing
-
Correlation to slump test for consistent results
-
Measures workability and compaction
-
Includes correlation chart and instructions
By having these features and benefits the K Slump Tester will give you precise concrete quality evaluation to achieve the desired structural strength and durability.
Q: Are there any accessories for Slump testing?
A: Yes, accessories such as graduated tamping rods, aluminum scoops, strike off bars and slump cone filling funnels are available for Slump Cone testing sets (includes correlation chart).
Q: Does Slump Test Set meet any test methods?
A: Yes, Slump Test Sets meet AASHTO T119, ASTM C 143, ASTM C 143M and BS 1881 for slump testing
A K slump tester is primarily measured by slump test, it is a critical indicator of wet concrete workability and consistency before it hardens. This test involves using slump cone test sets, a conical mold where the concrete is filled. After a specific procedure the mold is lifted and the wet concrete will slump. The degree of slump is then measured to get the information of the concrete fluidity and potential performance. Slump testing with tools such as tamping rod to compact the wet concrete in the cone ensures uniform and reliable results. To understand and apply the results the process often includes the use of correlation chart. The chart helps to interpret the slump value by correlating it to the in-place characteristics of the wet concrete to give a complete picture of the workability. In-place measurements with systematic use of correlation chart ensures precise wet concrete quality evaluation to achieve the desired structural strength and durability.
