After 40 seconds, lower the measuring rod until it rests on the surface of the concrete that entered the tester. Read the K-Slump value on the graduated scale. Remove the tester and read the workability value on the scale at the height of fresh concrete in the tester. The probe determines workability by giving in-place measurement results that correlate with slump tests. Readings are reliable when 6in (152mm) or more fresh sample surrounds the tester.
