- Material Suitability: Agate is an ideal material for processing soft to medium-hard, brittle, and fibrous samples. It is known for being metal-free and highly resistant to abrasion, which prevents contamination of the sample material.
- Balanced Operation: To ensure stable and effective operation of the FT-50 Fritsch Premium Planetary Mill, two grinding bowls with balanced loads must be used simultaneously. It is crucial to use identical bowls (same size and material) and equal fillings at both grinding stations. To achieve a perfect counterbalance, a jar of equal total mass filled with fine sand can be used.
- Capacity: This bowl has a total volume of 420mL, with a recommended working capacity of 60–200mL. This ensures there is adequate space for the grinding media and sample to move effectively for optimal results.
