100psf Basic Swell Consolidometer, 2.44in Diameter

The Self-Contained Basic Swell Consolidometer is designed for rapid swell and expansion testing of soil specimens with diameters of 2.44in (62mm) or 2.50in (63.5mm). This compact, all-in-one system eliminates the need for a separate loading frame, providing quick and efficient results to evaluate soil swell potential.

The process involves compacting soil into a stainless steel Compaction Ring. The ring containing the soil specimen is placed between two porous stones inside the Consolidometer and loaded with a weight of 60psf or 100psf (2.87 or 4.7kPa). A dial indicator is set to measure the initial height of the sample, and water is added to initiate the test.

The unit includes a stainless steel base, Compaction Ring, Loading Weight, Porous Stones, an acrylic ring for water containment, and an adjustable dial indicator holder. Additional accessories such as Loading Weights, Porous Stones, and stainless steel Compaction Rings can be purchased separately to enhance efficiency. A dial indicator and Permeability Compaction Hammer are also available as optional add-ons. The hammer includes adjustable drop heights and sliding weights for compacting soil samples effectively.
