The Manual Universal Penetrometer is a robust and precise instrument designed for accurate penetration measurements across a wide range of materials. Two stainless steel rods serve as support guides for a cast aluminum head, which includes both coarse and fine adjustments for precise control. The calibrated, friction-free plunger mechanism ensures smooth, consistent measurements every time. The indicator dial features a zero-reset function and is graduated in 400 divisions of 0.1mm, corresponding to a total of 40mm penetration depth, making it easy to read and record results quickly and accurately.
The 47.5g plunger assembly is compatible with any needle or cone featuring a standard 1/8in (3mm) diameter stem, offering flexibility for a wide range of testing applications. The package includes a standard 2.5g ASTM D5 Needle and two additional loading weights (50g and 100g), allowing you to customize the load to meet your specific testing requirements.
