The Automatic Universal Penetrometer is a state-of-the-art instrument designed to deliver precise, automated measurements for a wide range of penetration tests. Built for accuracy and durability, this penetrometer is an essential tool for laboratories and quality control applications.

The machine-grooved aluminum base features built-in leveling screws fitted with rubber inserts, ensuring stability while protecting needle and cone tips from damage. Two stainless steel rods support the cast aluminum head, which offers both coarse and fine adjustment capabilities for optimal positioning.

At the heart of this instrument is a button release mechanism paired with a digital timer, which automatically stops the plunger when the preset time — ranging from 0.1 to 9.9 seconds — expires. This feature eliminates human error and ensures consistent, repeatable results. The indicator can also be instantly reset to zero, streamlining the testing process. The analog penetration gauge is graduated in 400 divisions of 0.1mm, corresponding to a total of 40mm penetration.

The 47.5g plunger assembly is compatible with any needle or cone featuring a standard 1/8in (3mm) diameter stem, making it highly versatile. The penetrometer comes supplied with a standard 2.5g ASTM D5 Needle and two additional loading weights (50g and 100g) to accommodate a variety of testing requirements.
