Type K Thermocouple with Teflon Leads (1/8" OD, 24" Probe, 36" Leads)
Product Overview
Thermocouples are the industry standard for temperature measurement, prized for their versatility, convenience, and wide operational range. This Type K Thermocouple is a robust and reliable sensor designed for a multitude of industrial and commercial applications. It efficiently converts heat into a precise electrical signal (EMF), providing crucial data for process controllers, data loggers, and recorders.
How Thermocouples Work
A thermocouple operates on the principle of the Seebeck effect. It consists of two wires made from different metals, welded together at one end to form a "hot" junction. This is the sensing point that is placed in the environment to be measured. The other end, the "cold" or reference junction, connects to the measuring instrument. As the hot junction is heated, a temperature gradient is created along the wires, generating a small voltage or Electromotive Force (EMF). This voltage is directly proportional to the temperature difference between the two junctions. The instrument then measures this EMF and converts it into a precise temperature reading.
By selecting specific metal alloys and protective sheath materials, thermocouples can be engineered to measure an extremely broad spectrum of temperatures, from cryogenic lows of -200°C (-328°F) to extreme highs of over 2300°C (4200°F).
Pyromation Quality
Pyromation is a leader in producing high-quality thermocouples for nearly every market application. Our product line includes everything from general-purpose sensors to industrial-grade MgO (Magnesium Oxide) insulated thermocouples. We also specialize in creating custom assemblies for hazardous locations and demanding environments, incorporating components like connection heads, thermowells, and integrated transmitters for enhanced durability and functionality.
