Type K thermocouples, made from Chromel (+) and Alumel (-) metals, are among the most popular thermocouple types due to their wide temperature range (-200 to 1260 °C / -328 to 2300 °F), excellent accuracy, and compatibility with various environments, including oxidizing or inert atmospheres. The ungrounded junction design of this thermocouple provides electrical isolation between the sensing element and the outer sheath, helping to reduce electrical noise and interference in environments with high electromagnetic activity.
