Cure & Seal 30% J23LVOC is a professional-grade, high-solids (30%) acrylic copolymer compound designed for curing, sealing, and dustproofing concrete surfaces. Formulated with special UV stabilizers and exempt solvents, it creates a durable, high-gloss protective coating. This formulation not only ensures superior curing performance but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the concrete, leaving a clear, non-yellowing finish that protects against the elements.

INTENDED USE

This product is specifically engineered for freshly placed exterior concrete surfaces. It provides an essential combination of functions:

• Curing: It effectively retains moisture in new concrete to ensure proper hydration and strength development, meeting ASTM C309 standards.
• Sealing & Protecting: It forms a tough, non-porous barrier on the concrete surface, protecting it from moisture intrusion, salt, grease, and other common contaminants. It meets ASTM C1315 specifications for a cure and seal product.
• Dustproofing: It binds loose surface particles to create a solid, dust-free, and easy-to-clean surface, ideal for patios, driveways, sidewalks, and other outdoor concrete slabs.

APPLICATION GUIDE

Estimating Coverage:

• First Coat: 200–400 sq. ft. per gallon (4.9–9.8 m²/L)
• Second Coat: 400–600 sq. ft. per gallon (9.8–14.8 m²/L)
• Coverage rates will vary based on the porosity and texture of the concrete surface.

Storage: Store in original, tightly sealed factory containers in a horizontal position to prevent moisture accumulation on the drum head. Maintain storage temperatures between 0°F (-18°C) and 110°F (43°C). The shelf life for properly stored, unopened containers is 24 months.

Placement Instructions:

1. Timing is Crucial: Apply Cure & Seal 30% J23LVOC immediately after all bleed water has evaporated and the concrete surface is firm enough to not be marred by the application process. Applying too early or too late can compromise curing performance.
2. Application Method: Apply uniformly using a high-quality, low-pressure pump-up sprayer with acetone-resistant gaskets (e.g., Hudson, Chapin). A tip size that produces a well-atomized spray pattern (0.5 gal/minute recommended) is essential to avoid streaming or spitting. Alternatively, a roller may be used, but avoid over-rolling or applying when the material becomes tacky.
3. Achieve a Uniform Film: Maintain a wet edge during application to ensure a seamless finish. Avoid creating runs, bubbles, or puddles. If they occur, immediately brush or roll them out.
4. Purity: Do not thin the product or contaminate it with solvents, water, or other materials.

CLEAN UP Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with an appropriate solvent like Xylol or lacquer thinner. For dried material, use Dayton Superior Green Bean Clean®.

LIMITATIONS & PRECAUTIONS

• FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY.
• Exterior Use Only: This product is not intended for interior or enclosed spaces due to its solvent-based nature. For interior applications, use a water-based alternative like Cure & Seal 309 EF or Cure & Seal 1315 EF.
• Temperature: Do not apply if the ambient or surface temperature is below 40°F (4°C) or is expected to fall below this level within 24 hours.
• Equipment: Ensure all sprayer components (hoses, gaskets) are solvent-resistant.
• Overcoating: Do not apply concrete or mortar toppings over surfaces sealed with this product. Before applying resinous coatings (epoxy, urethanes), the sealer must be completely removed using a product like Citrus Cleaner J48 or Green Bean Clean®.
• Flooring: If moisture-sensitive flooring will be installed, consult ACI 302.2R guidelines first.
• Safety: READ THE SAFETY DATA SHEET (SDS) PRIOR TO USE.
  • Highly flammable. Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flames.
  • Use with adequate ventilation and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, protective clothing, and eye protection.
  • Keep out of reach of children. Do not take internally. Seek immediate medical attention if ingested.
  • May cause skin or eye irritation. In case of contact, flush the affected area with water immediately and seek medical help as needed.
  • Dispose of all waste materials in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
