The ATS Vacuum Degassing Oven (VDO) is a fully automated, benchtop degassing oven designed to remove entrapped air bubbles from asphalt specimens following aging in a Pressure Aging Vessel (PAV). Equipped with a self-contained vacuum system, the VDO rapidly evacuates its chamber to the required 15 ±1.0kPa (4.4in Hg), ensuring precise and consistent results every time.

Precision Control and Monitoring The VDO features a large 7in (178mm) touchscreen controller that allows users to easily program vacuum time, temperature, and soak time values through an intuitive, menu-driven interface available in multiple languages. The controller display continuously indicates time, temperature, and the current process stage, while audible and visual alarms alert users at the end of each process. Both soak and degas times are programmable for up to 4,320 minutes, offering exceptional flexibility for a wide range of testing scenarios.

Temperature accuracy is ensured by a platinum RTD probe, which measures temperatures in the vacuum chamber to ±0.2°F (±0.1°C). The temperature range spans from ambient to 392°F (200°C), making it suitable for a variety of asphalt testing applications.

Network Connectivity and Remote Operation The VDO Touch is network-ready, allowing it to be connected via Ethernet cable for remote operation through smartphones, tablets, or PCs. This feature makes it easy to monitor and control the degassing process from anywhere, improving workflow efficiency. USB ports are also included for easy software upgrades, ensuring the unit remains up to date with the latest features and improvements. A stylus is included for convenient touchscreen operation.

Durable Construction and Easy Maintenance The VDO is built to last, featuring a rugged stainless steel cabinet, chamber, and cover that are easy to clean and maintain. The removable cover includes a heat-resistant glass viewing window, allowing users to monitor the vacuum degassing process without interrupting it. The chamber accommodates eight 4oz (118mL) or four 8oz (236mL) sample containers, providing flexibility for different sample sizes.
