ATS Bending Beam Rheometer 3S (BBR3S) - Touchscreen Controller

The Applied Test Systems (ATS) Bending Beam Rheometer 3S (BBR3S) is the latest and most advanced version of this industry-leading instrument. Designed to perform flexural tests on asphalt binder and similar specimens, the BBR3S meets the requirements of AASHTO T 313, AASHTO TP 87, ASTM D6648, GOST 58400.8-2019, and BS EN 14771 specifications as part of the PG grading system according to Superpave. As an ATS original, the BBR3S is the first of its kind to feature an internal computer system with touch screen technology, making it the most user-friendly and efficient BBR on the market.

System Components

Each BBR3S comes complete with everything you need to get started, including:

  • Fluid bath base with built-in touchscreen computer
  • Load frame
  • External refrigeration unit
  • Calibration kit with carrying case

Temperature Range and Measurement

The BBR3S features a -40°C to 25°C temperature range, which is efficiently and accurately calculated by a platinum RTD measuring device. This wide temperature range makes the BBR3S ideal for determining a sample's critical cracking temperature and low temperature PG grade. The 500g load cell and changeable specimen supports make it easy to transition the BBR3S for crack sealant testing.

Touchscreen Technology

The BBR3S features a 12-inch industrial-strength touchscreen display, making it easy to enter and adjust test parameters. Operators can customize a multitude of test parameters, including deflection plot, load plot, bath temperature, stirrer speed, specimen size, testing times, load, and testing company. The built-in Ethernet connection allows users to monitor their equipment remotely using a tablet, smartphone, or other mobile device.
