Acme Penetrometer measures penetration resistance to determine set times of concrete mixes, mortars, and grouts with a slump greater than zero. It also determines how variables, including temperature, cement, concrete mixture proportions, additions, and admixtures upon the time of setting and hardening time of concrete. The penetrometer features a cast aluminum base and a set of stainless steel needles in a wooden block. A 200lbf (890N) capacity load cell displays loads on a dial gauge that is graduated in 2lbf divisions. The innovative penetrometer design features a longer gear rack, making it efficient and easy to operate. A set of six needles which includes 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/10, 1/20, and 1/40in² (645, 323, 161, 65, 32, 16mm²), enabling multiplication to a maximum reading of 8,000lbf. Also included are 100 laboratory test data reporting forms.
