They hold and confine the neoprene pads and are placed at each end of the concrete cylinder before testing to ensure even load distribution on the flat surfaces of the two flat surfaces of the cylinders. Steel Retainers are made of alloy steel, machined to precise dimensions and plated inside and out to resist corrosion. Bearing surfaces are flat to 0.002in (0.05mm). Sold in sets of 2.
