10lb Soil Compaction Hammer (Corps of Engineers)
Soil Compaction Hammers are sliding drop Proctor hammers designed for Proctor Compaction testing of soil samples. Gilson's Standard and Modified Hammers are made from 100% 303 stainless steel, ensuring superior corrosion resistance and long-term durability. The hammer mass is enclosed in a vented guide sleeve for smooth, unrestricted free-fall operation.
Each hammer features a heavy knurled hexagonal cap securely welded to the tube, providing a comfortable grip during use and preventing rolling during storage. All models include a 2in (51mm) flat, circular face.
Soil Compaction Hammer (C.O.E) includes a 10lb (4.5kg) hammer mass and an 18in (457mm) drop height.
