Zeitfuchs Cross-Arm Viscometers are expertly designed to determine the kinematic viscosity of liquid asphalt (bitumen) and road oils at 140°F (60°C), and asphalt cements at 275°F (135°C), in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO standards. These viscometers are available in various models to accommodate a broad spectrum of product viscosities, ranging from 0.6 to 100,000 centistokes (cSt). Each model guarantees a high degree of accuracy, with a precision of ±0.2% within its stated viscosity range.

One of the key design benefits is the small sample volume requirement, typically between 1 to 3mL. This feature, combined with the cross-arm design, allows for convenient filling, testing, and cleaning while the viscometer remains immersed in a Constant Temperature Viscosity Bath. This eliminates the need to remove the unit from the bath between tests, streamlining the workflow and improving efficiency. For proper operation, a minimum bath immersion depth of 9in (230mm) is required.

To ensure accuracy and traceability, each viscometer is delivered with a unique Certificate of Calibration. A compatible holder with a 2in (51mm) diameter is necessary for operation and is available for separate purchase.
