Soil Sample Ejector – Reliable Extraction for Soil & Asphalt Samples
So you can see how easy it is to use the Soil Sample Ejector.
Soil Sample Ejector for 4” and 6” molds up to 7” long. Hand operated with 6000 lbs. of force, with a capacity hydraulic jack rated at 6000 lbs. The sample ejector is made with a three column frame made of plated steel for durability. Adapters sold separately for 2” and 3” dia. samples. Various items, including extruder disc sets and adapter ring sets, are available and can be purchased separately as replacement items.
This is for extrusion of soil or asphalt samples from compaction molds, Marshall molds and other houses of molds. The extrusion process is done with an extruder disc set, which allows for efficient extrusion of soil or asphalt samples from different mold sizes; the discs are secured to the piston top with wing nuts. The load platform supports the mold during extrusion and prevents it from falling. The ejector is available in two models to fit different mold sizes and sample types. The stroke of the hydraulic jack allows the empty mold to be removed easily after extrusion. Use of the sample ejector is ideal for laboratory soil and asphalt sample preparation.
Meets Test Methods: ASTM D 559 ASTM D 558
ASTM D 698
ASTM D 1558
ASTM D 1559
Soil Sample Ejector Features and Benefits: Also the hydraulic jack adjusts to different mold heights so you can extract samples from any size mold. The design also prevents the mold from falling over the hydraulicjack during operation for added functionality and safety.
What is a Soil Sample Ejector?
A soil sample ejector is a device used to extract soil samples from compaction molds, Marshall molds and Shelby tubes. This is a must have in soil testing as it allows you to extract samples efficiently and accurately without damaging the sample or the mold. Soil sample ejectors are very useful in extracting compacted asphalt and soil samples so the integrity of the sample is maintained during extraction. By using a soil sample ejector you can easily extract soil samples for further testing and examination. It’s an important tool in geotechnical engineering and research.
Soil Sample Ejector Features and Benefits
Sample ejectors have several features that makes them a must have in soil testing. One of which is the three column frame made of plated steel which is very stable and durable during extraction. Also the hydraulic jack adjusts to different mold heights so you can extract samples from any size mold.
Another feature is the discs which are attached to the top of the piston. The discs are secured to the piston top with nuts to ensure stability during extrusion. This design ensures that samples are ejected evenly and not tilted so the sample integrity is maintained. Adapter ring accessories are also available to extract soil samples from 2, 2.5 or 3” diameter Shelby tubes. A set of extruder discs and adapter rings is available for different mold sizes. Two wing nuts allow quick and easy change of adapter rings and extruder discs for added versatility. The design allows for extrusion of samples from various molds so it’s suitable for many applications.
The benefits of using a soil sample ejector are many. First it reduces sample preparation time so you can extract samples quicker and more efficient. This means more accurate samples as samples are not damaged or contaminated. Also you can extract multiple samples in a short period of time so sample ejectors are a must have in any soil testing toolkit.
