Screed Chairs, MAKO Concrete Jaws RailFin, 1/4in Flat Bar (100/Cs)

About Metal Screed Chairs

Metal screed chairs are a must have in the construction industry, they provide strong and stable support for lumber or pipe screeds during concrete pouring and finishing. Made from metal they are built to withstand the job site and repeated use. A key feature of metal screed chairs is the adjustable threaded ring which allows for fine tuning of the screed height so the screed sits at the exact level needed for the project.

By supporting diameter pipe screeds and integrating into any moveable screed system metal screed chairs help contractors achieve flatter finished surfaces faster. Whether you’re working on grade or elevated decks these chairs keep your screed stable and level resulting in a smoother more professional finish. Their ruggedness and adaptability makes them a go to for anyone looking to improve the quality and speed of their concrete pouring and finishing.

Applications

Metal screed chairs are very versatile and can be used in many construction applications. They are used on grade slabs and elevated slabs, supporting 2x4 lumber and 1 1/2” diameter pipe screeds. With the adjustable ring you can make up to 1 1/2” height adjustments so you can control the concrete grade and have the screed set at the right level.

These chairs are also compatible with half inch or smaller metal pipe and PVC pipe, so you have flexibility for different project requirements. In large pours or big pours where a consistent and level surface is critical metal screed chairs help reduce the fill and create a more even finish. This saves materials and streamlines the finishing process.

Contractors often use metal screed chairs with other finishing tools like a bull float or screed bar to get an even smoother finish. Whether you’re using a single rail or setting up rails side by side metal screed chairs provide the support system for accurate results. Their adaptability and reliability makes them a must have for any concrete professional looking to create precise, durable and beautiful surfaces.## Metal Screed Chairs: MAKO 08244JAW25 Concrete Jaws RailFin for 1/4" Flat Bar Steel (100 per Bag)

For precise positioning, a grade tool or tape measurer can be used to set up the metal screed chairs and check the height of the rebars relative to the string line. Tool lines help in setting precise levels during the concrete pouring process. JAWS is made of impact resistant material and is virtually unbreakable. Can be set up in various configurations with the FinStand and Base Plate and works on several applications.

The metal screed chair is a must have tool for concrete contractors, to support lumber or 2” od metal pipe screeds includes in many applications. Screed chairs can be reused for various projects, making them a reliable and efficient solution. Adjustable so you can control the screed height for a flat footing surface and a finished product. Use on grade slabs or elevated slabs, this is a tool you can’t live without. This tool is a favorite among professionals for precision and speed in concrete work. It can also support smaller metal pipes for different applications.

  • 2” outside diameter metal pipe construction for durability and strength.

  • Adjustable ring to fine tune screed height. Screed receiver 2-3/8” outside diameter and 1-1/2” adjustable range.

  • Base is 4-3/4” diagonal and 1-1/4” high.

  • Safe working load compression 300 lb.

  • Works with 2x4 lumber and 1 1/2” diameter pipe screeds includes.

  • Can be used with 1” O.D. pvc pipe not included for added flexibility. The screed pipe or pvc pipe can be cut to the desired length for your specific pour, or you can also use a straight edge for achieving perfectly straight concrete surfaces.

For proper setup, first establish a string line at the finished grade to guide your screed system. Cut rebars to the required length and use a hammer to drive the rebars into the ground at a half inch from the string line. Hammer till the rebar reaches the correct height as indicated by the string line, using a tape measurer for accuracy. Finish driving the rebar to ensure it is at the correct height before placing the screed chair. Leave room between the line and the wall to allow for screeding equipment and maintain enough room around the formwork or wall for screeding tools. When working near a wall or building, position the screed chairs at the proper distance to ensure accurate grading and efficient screeding.

To install and adjust a metal screed chair:

  1. Place the base on the concrete surface, level and tight. Drive the rebar a half inch from the string for proper setup, ensuring the rebars are driven into the ground for stability.

  2. Attach the screed receiver to the base, adjust to height. Ensure the rebar alignment is at about the same level as the line for accuracy.

  3. Insert the lumber or pipe screed into the receiver, make sure it’s seated in wood decks. The screed chair can support a 2” od metal pipe for use as a screed rail.

  4. Use the adjustable ring to fine tune the screed height, to level.

  5. After screeding one section, the screed pipe can be slid forward to the next set of screed chairs for ongoing leveling. Move to the next place and repeat the process for a continuous pour, especially useful in a larger pour. spreading, leveling concrete Straight Edge for Concrete

Note: Always follow safety protocols when using metal screed chairs, safe working load compression and proper lifting techniques. This will ensure the tool lasts and the site runs smoothly.
