The Sample Ejector is a robust and efficient tool designed to remove compacted soil or asphalt specimens from 4in and 6in (102mm and 152mm) Soil-Density or Marshall molds with ease. With the addition of adapter ring accessories, it can also extrude soil samples from 2, 2.5, or 3in (51, 64, or 76mm) diameter Shelby tubes, making it a versatile solution for a wide range of soil testing applications.

At the heart of this device is a powerful 12,000lbf (53.4kN) hydraulic jack with a generous 5in (127mm) stroke, securely mounted on a heavy-duty three-column plated steel frame built to withstand demanding laboratory conditions. The load platform is specifically designed to hold molds firmly in place, preventing the emptied mold from falling back onto the jack once the specimen has been removed — ensuring both safety and efficiency during operation.

The frame is fully adjustable, accommodating molds up to 11.75in (279mm) in length. For specimens that exceed 5in in length, extraction can continue by simply repositioning the adapter ring after the piston reaches its maximum stroke, allowing for greater flexibility in sample sizes. Once the release valve is opened, the spring-loaded piston automatically resets to its starting position, streamlining the workflow and reducing downtime between extractions.

Adapter rings can be swapped out quickly and easily using two wing nuts, minimizing setup time and allowing for fast transitions between different mold sizes.
