Quick-Lock Pier Boot® spacers are designed to support a reinforcing steel cage within a drilled shaft with a concrete cover requirement. They are also great for supporting reinforcing steel over waterproofing in mat foundations and providing vertical support of slurry walls. All our Quick-Lock Pier Boot® spacers are made of durable, noncorrosive plastic. The 3″ Pier Boot attaches to rebar sizes #5 thru #14 and the 6″ Pier Boot attaches to rebar sizes #6 thru #14.
Without proper alignment, the rebar cage cannot perform the function for which it was designed. Faulty alignment can cause foundation failure, which often leads to issues of contingent liability. Because the rebar cage cannot be inspected or tested after the concrete is placed in the drilled shaft, the cage must be aligned properly the first time! Now you can do what is right and what is easy! Simply slide the Quick-Lock Pier Boot® spacer onto the end of a vertical bar of the rebar cage. When it clicks, you know you have a straight, standing support.
Installation is quick and easy! The recommended spacing for proper support is one Quick-Lock Pier Boot® spacer on every other vertical bar for piers under 48 inches in diameter or one Quick-Lock Pier Boot® spacer on every vertical bar for piers 48 inches in diameter and over.
