At the core of the Profometer series is the wireless modular detection sensor, offering exceptional range and accuracy. It can detect individual rebars and measure concrete cover depths up to 7.3 inches (185.5 mm) with an accuracy of ±0.16 inches (4.1 mm). Bar diameters can be measured at depths up to 2.5 inches (63.5 mm) with an accuracy of ±1 mm. Detection depth and accuracy are influenced by the cover thickness and bar diameters.
The Profometer Basic and Pro models integrate seamlessly with an Apple iPad (iPadOS 14.0 or later) via secure Bluetooth. The iPad’s robust processing power, high-resolution display, and built-in reporting tools provide an intuitive platform for viewing, collecting, and sharing inspection data. Inspections can be uploaded to the cloud instantly from any location with internet access, enabling efficient data sharing and storage.
Each Profometer Cover Meter kit includes the sensor, rechargeable NiMH AA batteries (offering up to 8 hours of use), a battery charger, quick-start guide, carrying case with strap, and marking chalk. The Basic (CT-171R) and Pro (CT-172R) models also include a detachable wheeled cart for the sensor. The devices can also operate using standard alkaline AA batteries or a user-supplied USB-C power bank. Apple iPad devices are not included in the kit and must be supplied separately by the user.
For users seeking a more streamlined option, the Profometer Lite Cover Meter offers basic functionality without requiring an iPad or additional software. This lightweight, wireless model performs accurate rebar location, orientation, and cover estimation, displaying results on a built-in OLED screen. However, it does not include advanced features like visualizations, statistics, or cloud reporting. The Lite model does not come with a wheeled cart.
Permanent operating software is included with the Basic and Pro models, providing access to Proceq Workspace. Users receive free updates and support for five years after purchase, with the option to renew software updates via subscription. The software remains fully functional even after the initial five-year period.
