The Micro-Deval Jar with Locking Cover is an essential component for conducting abrasion-resistance tests on mineral aggregates using a Micro-Deval Apparatus. Constructed entirely from high-quality stainless steel, this 5-liter jar is engineered for maximum durability and longevity, capable of withstanding the rigorous demands of repeated testing cycles.
The primary function of this jar is to contain the aggregate sample, water, and an abrasive charge during the testing process. Its robust design ensures that the sample and charge are securely contained as the jar rotates within the Micro-Deval machine, simulating the abrasive actions aggregates experience in real-world applications.
How it Works
To perform a test, the aggregate sample and a specified amount of Abrasive Charge (up to 5,000g of stainless steel balls) are placed inside the jar along with water. The specially designed locking cover is then secured tightly to create a sealed, watertight environment, preventing any leakage during rotation. Once secured in the Micro-Deval Apparatus, the jar is rotated for a set number of revolutions, and the resulting degradation of the aggregate is measured to determine its abrasion resistance and durability.
This unit is available as a direct replacement for an existing jar or as an additional jar to increase testing efficiency and sample throughput in your lab.
