Material Handling with a Metal Chute

The Handling Chute is an all-purpose chute for loading, filling and handling any bulk material, Asphalt, Aggregates, Soils. It can be used to quickly fill Gyratory, Marshall, Proctor, CBR and Relative Density molds or Quartermaster™ or Universal splitters. The Handling Chute conforms to mold loading procedures in ASTM D 4013 and AASHTO T 312.

The flat bottom and integral feet make weighing easy. The two aluminum bar handles reinforce the unit and allow for balanced handling for easy and accurate placement of sample. Handling Chute is constructed of 24 gauge stainless steel with rolled edges. The open end is formed with a 2in (51mm) radius to fit most mold openings. The unit stands horizontally or vertically.

Handling Chute is an all-purpose chute for loading, filling and handling any bulk asphalt, aggregates, soils. It quickly and uniformly fills gyratory molds, Quartermaster Asphalt Sample Dividers, or Universal Sample Splitters while conforming to mold loading procedures in ASTM D4013 and AASHTO T 312. Additionally, using a Concrete Chute Scraper can help clear excess material effectively. The flat bottom and integral feet make it a stable and convenient weighing scoop. The two aluminum bar handles reinforce the unit and enable balanced handling for easy and accurate placement. If you are looking for Asphalt/Concrete Heavy-Duty Mobile Mixers, they provide efficient small batch mixing solutions.

Handling is a key part of many industries, manufacturing, logistics and recycling. It’s the movement, storage and control of goods and products within a facility. One important part of handling is the use of steel chutes, which allows for efficient and safe transportation. Steel chutes are ideal for applications where materials need to be moved in a straight line without any change in direction. They are found in many industries, manufacturing, logistics and recycling facilities and are a critical asset in many industrial and commercial applications.

Design and Components

The design and components of steel chutes are critical to their function and safety. Steel chutes are made from high quality stainless steel or galvanized steel and are designed to withstand high volumes of debris and harsh weather conditions. The length and height of the chute can be customized to fit different types of products and various options are available, straight, spiral, sorter, transition chutes. Accessories such as safety guards or barriers, non-slip surfaces and automatic shut-off mechanisms can be added to the design for safe and easy operation. Compactors and carts can also be used with steel chutes to improve handling efficiency.

Safety

Safety is paramount when it comes to steel chutes. The system must comply with various industry safety requirements including OSHA. Regular maintenance including routine inspections for wear, corrosion and damage and cleaning to remove debris and prevent blockages is essential to extend the life of the chute. Lubricating moving parts and repairing or replacing damaged components as soon as possible can help extend the life of the chute. Emergency stop buttons and safety sensors can be added to stop chute operation if unsafe conditions are detected immediately.

Applications and Industries

Steel chutes are used in many applications and industries, manufacturing, logistics and construction. They are ideal for high rise buildings and large developments where debris removal is a major concern. Steel chutes can be installed in many locations, external chutes for safe and easy debris removal. The type of chute used depends on the application and sorters and transition chutes can be used to move products between different levels. Door and cart systems can also be added to steel chutes to improve material handling efficiency.

Installation and Use

Installation and use of steel chutes requires careful consideration to ensure safe and efficient handling. The chute must be installed by a qualified person and regular maintenance is required to prevent accidents and ensure optimal performance. The use of the chute must be easy and intuitive with clear instructions and safety guidelines provided to the user. Options for customization such as adjusting the length and height of the chute can be made to fit user needs. By following safety requirements and guidelines steel chutes can provide a safe and efficient handling solution for many applications and industries.
