Lottman Breaking Head, 150mm
The Lottman Breaking Head is a precision-engineered testing fixture designed for use with conventional Marshall Stability Load Frames. It is used to determine Indirect Tensile (IDT) or Lottman values of asphalt mixes, making it an essential tool for evaluating the quality and durability of asphalt materials.
Available for 4in, 6in, and 150mm specimen sizes, the Lottman Breaking Head can be used to determine the Tensile Strength Ratio (TSR) by calculating and comparing stress levels between conditioned and unconditioned specimens. This allows engineers and technicians to assess the moisture susceptibility of asphalt mixes and ensure they meet required performance standards.
The 150mm version of the Lottman Breaking Head is also compatible with the Indirect Tensile Cracking Test (IDEAL-CT), performed in accordance with ASTM D8225. This test provides a simple and efficient method for evaluating the cracking resistance of asphalt mixtures.
Each fixture is built for durability and precision, consisting of a base with upright guide rods and a top with matching guide sleeves. The upper and lower stainless steel loading strips feature concave contact surfaces, ensuring accurate and consistent load application during testing.
Features:
- Durable stainless steel loading strips for long-lasting performance
- Available for 4in, 6in, or 150mm specimens
