MC-250 Series Concrete Compression Machines test concrete cylinders, cores, cubes and beams for compressive strength. Durable frames have total capacities up to 250,000lbf (1,112kN). These machines come ready to test 6x12 concrete cylinders up to 7,000 psi with sulfur caps or unbonded pads. Optional attachment sets available for cubes, flexural beams and other cylinder sizes.
Two stage compression machine, oil immersed pump powers the hydraulic ram in the top crosshead to apply downward compression force. The placement of the hydraulic cylinder assembly minimizes debris accumulation around the cylinder area. During testing the digital load indicator simultaneously displays live load. Digital load indicator displays both live load and rate of load values, real time feedback. First high volume low pressure stage advances the piston, then pump automatically switches at 135psi to second stage. Second stage low volume high pressure flow maintains a constant rate of loading during testing from 2,000–200,000lbf (8,896–889,600kN) per minute.
250 series have 0.5 hp systems that run cooler, quieter and have better load control than others. Precision ground pistons with O-Ring sealing and Teflon® backup rings ride in a polished steel cylinder. Ground and hardened spherically seated upper platens have nickel plating and scribed concentric circles. Locking Stem holds upper platen assembly in place but allows quick change of accessories. Lower platen is 6.5x1.9in (165x48mm) diameter x thickness.
Latchable steel fragment guard doors, high pressure hydraulic safety valves and piston pressure bleed holes provide added safety to prevent overloading. Controllers are side mounted but can be installed in a separate console.
