The durable, waterproof ABS plastic casing boasts an IP65 rating, ensuring resilience in demanding environments. Users can select rebar size ranges from USA (Imperial), metric, ASTM/Canadian, and Japanese units, offering global versatility. Each Cover Meter package includes a battery pack, charger, shoulder harness, and a comprehensive manual. The included AC charger is globally compatible, adapting to 115V/60HZ, 230V/50Hz, and most other power supplies and outlet configurations.

Search Heads are essential and interchangeable accessories for the Elcometer Cover Meters. The Standard Search Head is ideal for detecting larger rebar. For enhanced resolution or to cover a wider range of rebar sizes and depths, users can opt for Narrow Pitch and Deep Cover Search Heads. A variety of additional search heads, specialized probes, an optional extension arm, spare battery packs, and calibration test blocks are also available separately for both Covermeter models, allowing for complete customization and extended functionality.

The Elcometer Cover Meter SH model elevates rebar identification by also providing location, orientation, and depth. This advanced unit boasts memory capacity for ten batches, each storing up to 1,000 readings, and offers both automatic and manual bar sizing. A significant advantage of this model is its compatibility with Half-Cell Probes (sold separately), which can be interchanged with Search Heads to measure the potential for rebar corrosion – a critical feature for structural integrity assessments. Standard features include an audible low cover alert and a Maxpip™ tone, which significantly improves accuracy during location identification. The RL-102A version comes equipped with RS 232 output and the proprietary Covermaster™ software, facilitating seamless data downloading, analysis, and professional report generation, along with a PC/Printer cable. Please note that search heads are not supplied with the Cover Meter SH and must be purchased separately to enable rebar detection functionality.
