Also included is a steel extension shaft assembly with a 60° hardened cone tip at one end. The tip is driven into the pavement or sub grade with a sliding dual mass hammer. The base diameter of the cone is 20mm, which is 8mm larger than the diameter of the extension shaft so you get precise penetration. The kit includes disposable cones, cone adapters and a drive rod so it’s a complete solution for soil testing.
