How to do a Slump Test
Doing a slump test is easy and requires minimal equipment and training. Here’s how:

Prepare the Slump Cone: Place the slump cone on a flat surface, clean and debris free.

Fill the Slump Cone: Fill the slump cone with fresh mixed concrete, using a scoop or tamping rod to compact as you go.

Compact the Fresh Concrete: Use the tamping rod to compact the concrete in 3 layers, each layer fully compacted before the next.

Strike the Surface: Once the slump cone is filled, strike the surface 25 times with the tamping rod to remove air pockets.

Lift the Slump Cone: Lift the slump cone carefully and let the fresh concrete flow before it is poured.

Measure the Slump: Measure the slump by how far it flows from the original height of the slump cone.
