This device determines the coefficient of permeability using the constant head method for laminar water flow through granular soils. The acrylic chamber allows sample visibility, and the two grooved manometer ports are screened on the inside, with the port distance equal to the diameter. #100 mesh screens prevent material migration through valves and tubing during testing. The spring-loaded top cap ensures 5-10 lbs. of force to maintain soil density, while anodized aluminum end caps and clamping rings ensure durability. Each unit includes valves, perforated screens, and clamping components. Tubing is sold separately.
