The Concrete Maturity Meter, 4-Channel, Rechargeable has internal memory for over 10 months of continuous half-hour readings. Datum concrete temperature and activation energy are user programmable. 1 to 4 locations can be monitored at once and all channels are accessed via membrane keyboard and alphanumeric display. You can check maturity progress at any time from the meter for real-time data on concrete temperature and strength monitoring so you have the concrete data.

Proper installation within the concrete structure is required for optimal wireless signal strength and data transmission.

This rechargeable concrete maturity meter has a NiCad battery and charger to more than double battery life or operate from 115V AC. Includes Type T thermocouple wire, 4 connectors, RS-232 cable for downloading to a PC and a plastic carrying case.

Meter Dimensions: 8x4.8x3in (203x122x76mm)

Concrete Maturity Testing

Concrete maturity testing is a way to measure the degree of hydration in concrete which is directly related to its strength and durability. This is used in concrete construction projects to ensure quality and longevity of concrete structures. By using maturity meters you can measure the maturity of concrete by concrete temperature and time so you have a gauge when the concrete has reached the required strength for further construction activities. Maturity testing is a must have tool for project engineers and construction teams to optimize the curing process and ensure their concrete construction projects structural integrity.

Key Features and Benefits

Concrete maturity testing has the following features:

  • Real-time Monitoring: Tracks concrete temperature and maturity continuously so you have data for timely decisions.

  • Accurate Strength Determination: Measures concrete strength and durability so you know the concrete meets the specs.

  • Versatile Curing Process Monitoring: Works in any environment so you can monitor the curing process in any condition.

  • For Various Structures: For bridges to high-rise buildings.

  • Affordable Quality Control: A cost effective way to control quality in concrete construction.

The benefits of concrete maturity testing are:

  • Better Quality and Durability: Concrete structures are built to last, less repair in the future.

  • Reduced Construction Time and Cost: Minimize delays and expenses by having data on concrete strength so you can move on with construction activities.

  • More Accurate and Reliable: A reliable way to test concrete strength and durability, less reliance on field-cured cylinders.

  • On-the-fly Adjustments: Allows construction teams to adjust the curing process so you can optimize the concrete.

  • Safer: Minimize construction delays and structural failures, safer construction site.

How it Works

The concrete maturity meter works by measuring the electrical resistivity or concrete temperature of the concrete. During the pouring process the meter is embedded in the concrete where it records the changes in electrical resistivity or concrete temperature over time. The sensor temperature data is then used to calculate the maturity of the concrete so you have a measure of its strength and durability. The real-time monitoring feature allows construction teams to make on-the-fly adjustments to the curing process so you can have optimal concrete quality and performance.

Applications and Case Studies

Concrete maturity testing is applicable to:

  • Mass Concrete Placements: Uniform curing and strength development in large concrete pours and mass concrete placements

  • High-rise: Maturity of concrete in tall buildings so you can stress post-tension cables on time.

  • Bridge: Accurate concrete data on concrete strength for safety and durability of bridges.

  • Road: Concrete pavements reach required strength before opening to traffic.

  • Building: Curing process in various building components so you have structural integrity.

Case studies have shown the benefits of concrete maturity testing. For example, a project engineer used maturity testing to determine the best time to stress post-tension cables in a high-rise project. This saved time and cost by eliminating field-cured cylinders and having exact data on concrete strength and durability.
