The method is simple and efficient. A small sample of mortar from the fresh concrete is placed in the provided measuring cup. This cup is then inserted into the glass tube, which is subsequently filled with isopropyl alcohol. After sealing the tube and agitating it to dissolve the air bubbles from the mortar, the percentage of air is read directly from the graduated markings on the vial's stem. The drop in the alcohol level corresponds to the air content of the sample.
