Optimizing Ball Quantity and Bowl Loading

The ideal ball quantity depends on the application and should be determined through user trials. Keep in mind:

• Using more balls generally reduces grinding time and produces finer size distributions, up to an optimal point.
• Overloading the bowl (filling beyond two-thirds of its total volume) can hinder grinding efficiency. For best results, leave at least one-third of the bowl empty to allow proper movement and grinding action.

Material Compatibility and Cross-Contamination

For optimal performance, grind samples with balls and bowls made of materials harder than the sample itself. For exceptionally hard samples:
