The Zeitfuchs Cross-Arm Viscometer, Size 1, is expertly designed for precise measurements of kinematic viscosity in transparent and opaque liquids. It is particularly effective for testing bitumen and road oils at 140°F (60°C) and asphalt cements at 275°F (135°C), conforming to ASTM D2170/2170M standards. This model covers a viscosity range of 0.6 to 3 centistokes (cSt) with an approximate constant of 0.003 cSt/s, ensuring results with ±0.2% precision.
One of its key advantages is the small sample volume requirement of just 1 to 3mL. This unique cross-arm design allows the viscometer to be conveniently filled and cleaned while remaining immersed in a constant temperature bath, streamlining the testing process. A minimum bath immersion depth of 9in (230mm) is necessary for accurate temperature equilibrium.
Each viscometer is individually calibrated and supplied with a Certificate of Calibration, guaranteeing its accuracy and traceability. A separate holder is required for operation.
