The Orion 940 data collection comes in two modes…manual or automatic with viewable moisture stats. The Orion 940 can store up to 100 readings, with stored readings that include high-low-average analysis.

Dual Depth Measurements

The 940 measures moisture in your wood from the surface down to .25” (6.4mm) in shallow scan mode or from the surface down to .75”(19mm) in deep scan mode.

IntelliSense™ Technology

Orion 910, 930, 940, and 950 pinless wood moisture meters have IntelliSense™ technology in their ¾” (19mm) deep reading modes. This allows for accurate measurement of moisture content deeper in the wood while minimizing the effect of surface moisture on the meter reading. Pin-type meters can bypass the surface conditions, but they also damage the surface of the wood every time you take a reading.

Fast Selection Species Settings

With up/down arrow buttons, your Orion 940 can be set for the wood species you need to measure in seconds. Plus, the range of settings covers almost any softwood or hardwood species in the world. The Orion 940 can also be set to measure non-solid wood products like plywood, OSB, or MDF. Orion meters also have settings for many bamboo flooring products.

Non-Damaging Pinless Sensor

Every Orion meter has electromagnetic wave technology…a non-damaging way to quickly and accurately measure the moisture content of wood or other materials. Compared to pin meters, the pinless sensor of the Orion line of meters does not damage the wood and eliminates the frustrations and costs of broken pins, common with pin-type meters. A relative moisture measurement mode allows for taking relative moisture measurements in non-wood based materials and engineered wood flooring. This means you can use an Orion moisture meter to take relative moisture readings on many non-wood building materials and flooring products.
