The Speedy® 2000 Moisture Tester (0-20 x 0.2%, 6g sample) is a reliable tool for testing moisture levels in clays, fine powders, grains, and sand. Measuring 12x4in (305x102mm) LxDia, this portable and easy-to-use unit is ideal for on-site moisture analysis, eliminating the risk of moisture loss during transport. It comes with an electronic balance, reagent measuring scoop, brush, and instructions, all neatly stored in a durable plastic case. Please note, the calcium carbide reagent is sold separately.
This proven method delivers rapid, accurate, and dependable results for sand, aggregates, ores, coal, soils, ceramics, abrasives, and more. The device operates without a power supply, making it convenient for fieldwork. To use, simply place a pre-weighed sample and a measured amount of calcium carbide reagent into the tester. When the chamber is sealed and agitated, the moisture in the sample reacts with the reagent to generate acetylene gas. The built-in pressure gauge provides a direct moisture reading in just 1 to 3 minutes.
Constructed with a rugged die-cast aluminum body, the tester features an integral dial pressure gauge for precise measurements. Replacement accessories are available and interchangeable between models. Additional reagent is sold in 10lb (4.5kg) cans, which can be used to refill smaller containers for easier field use.
