Pyromation 100 Ohm RTD Sensor with Male Plug: Precision Temperature Measurement for Demanding Applications
Introducing Pyromation's precision-engineered RTD sensor, featuring a robust male plug for reliable and accurate temperature detection. This 100 Ohm, 1/4-inch OD sheath, 6-inch long sensor is designed for industrial applications requiring high repeatability and interchangeability of elements.
Unmatched Accuracy and Reliability: Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs), also known as resistance thermometers, are renowned for their superior accuracy compared to thermocouples, particularly in the -200°C to 600°C (-328°F to 1112°F) range. Our RTDs leverage the predictable change in electrical resistance of certain metallic elements (typically platinum, nickel, or copper) as a function of temperature. A small excitation current is passed through the element, and the resulting voltage, directly proportional to the resistance, is precisely measured and converted into a temperature reading.
Advanced Construction for Optimal Performance: This sensor utilizes a 100 Ohm platinum (Pt100) element, a global standard for industrial temperature measurement due to its stability and linearity. The element is meticulously constructed, often by winding a fine wire or plating a thin film onto a ceramic or glass core, then hermetically sealing it within a protective capsule to prevent contamination and ensure longevity. The 1/4-inch diameter sheath provides robust mechanical protection against harsh industrial environments, while the 6-inch length offers flexibility for various immersion depths.
Enhanced Signal Integrity with 3-Wire Configuration: With a low initial resistance (typically 100 Ohms at 0°C) and a relatively small change in resistance per degree of temperature, lead wire resistance can significantly impact accuracy. To counteract this, this RTD features a 3-wire configuration. This design effectively compensates for lead wire resistance, ensuring that the measurement reflects only the temperature at the sensor tip, providing a much higher degree of accuracy than 2-wire setups. The white 3-pin male plug ensures a secure and standardized connection to your measurement instrumentation.
