Rod Corrosion Electrode for Proceq Profometer Corrosion Meter
The Rod Corrosion Electrode is a product for use with the Profometer Corrosion Meter to measure active corrosion in steel-reinforced concrete using the half-cell method. Either a Rod or Wheel (single or four-wheel) Electrode is required for the corrosion meter, different models are available for different applications. The items included in the product package are 5ft (1.5m) cable, terminal adapter, 250g copper sulphate, and cap with wooden plug. Quantity available may vary depending on stock; please check before ordering. Rod Electrodes are used for single reading or with a grid pattern that has been manually defined.
Features:
-
Copper/Copper Sulphate half-cell Electrode
-
Cable can connect to many third-party rod electrodes
Accessories:
-
Corrosion Electrode required for active corrosion identification
-
Single-Wheel Corrosion Electrode more accurate than Corrosion Electrode to determine where active corrosion starts
-
Four-Wheel Corrosion Electrode fast and accurate to measure electrical potential when detecting hot spots
-
Conversion Kit to Cover Meter with universal probe to convert CT-170 to CT-160 Profometer Cover Meter

1. Measurement
Measurement is key to protecting structures like reinforced concrete and boats. By measuring the likelihood, professionals can make informed decisions to extend the life of critical assets. One of the most popular method is the half cell potential method, which involves measuring the electrical potential between a reference electrode and the steel reinforcement. This gives valuable information on the probability of activity within the structure. The Profometer Corrosion Meter stands out in this field, with advanced features to simplify data collection and analysis. Its rugged system is designed for field use, so it’s a must-have for engineers and inspectors who need accurate, real-time information to assess risk and plan maintenance.Understanding measurement principles is key to accurate measurement and prevention. The half cell method is the core of this process, using a reference electrode—usually a copper/copper-sulfate rod—to measure the potential difference relative to the embedded steel reinforcement. This difference, in millivolts, tells you: more negative values means higher risk. Devices like the Profometer Corrosion Meter are designed to work within a wide measurement range, often from -1000 to +1000mV, with high resolution to capture small changes. By using these precise measurements you can map activity, prioritize repairs and ensure long term durability of structures.
3. Technical Specifications
When choosing a corrosion meter technical specifications are key to performance in the field. The Profometer Corrosion Meter has a measurement range of -1000 to +1000mV, high resolution output of 1mV, to analyze potential. Fast sampling rate of 900Hz and high input impedance of 100MΩ for noise free readings. Sold separately from the Electrode which is required for measurements. 8GB onboard flash memory to store large amount of data for later review. Rechargeable battery and charger included. Shipping options, availability and pricing may vary by region and supplier, please check before ordering. Each model is designed for field use, so you can rely on results for every project.
4. Benefits
Modern meters have many features to increase productivity and accuracy. The Profometer Corrosion Meter has a 7-inch color touchscreen to simplify navigation and data visualization. Intuitive interface to access measurement functions and review results on-site. Dual-core processor for smooth operation and 8GB memory for data logging and post-processing. You can do multiple measurements efficiently, reduce time in the field and increase overall productivity. The Profometer is rugged and advanced, so it’s a reliable choice for professionals who need precise data to make maintenance and repair decisions.
5. Electrode Applications
The Electrode is a universal accessory for the Profometer Meter and sold separately to fit your project needs. It’s used to measure potential in various applications from reinforced concrete structures to marine environments like boats. By providing the data, it helps you make informed decisions on maintenance and repair. Its design allows for quick and repeatable, perfect for spot checks and grid surveys. Whether you’re measuring a bridge, parking structure or a vessel, the Electrode gives you the reliability and precision you need for field management.
6. Maintenance and Calibration
To ensure continued accuracy and reliability of your measurement system, maintenance and calibration is crucial. The Profometer Meter should be calibrated according to the manufacturer’s guidelines which are available online and through customer support. Proper care of the electrode and cable—cleaning after use and storing in dry environment—will help maintain measurement integrity. Keep track of the model number and check for software updates or calibration services as recommended. Availability and pricing for spare parts or calibration services may vary, please check with the manufacturer or authorized distributor for the latest information. By following the recommended maintenance and calibration schedule you can ensure your Profometer system will continue to give you accurate performance throughout its life.
