Riffle sample splitters are used to divide or halve dry materials like cement, gravel, powdered ores, coal, coke, sand, and soils. When material is poured into the hopper, it is evenly split into two portions through a series of chutes, which alternate the discharge into separate pans. Humboldt splitters are made of stainless steel, with pans available in either stainless steel or cold-rolled steel.
