As a single-stage, riffle-type splitter, it excels in applications requiring high levels of precision, particularly with very fine materials. Its design features a gate-controlled hopper and thirty fixed-width chutes, each measuring 0.06in (1.6mm), to guarantee superior accuracy and reproducibility with every use.

When a sample is loaded into the hopper, it can be spread evenly before the easy-flip gate is released. Upon release, the material flows down and is precisely divided in half by the series of chutes. The resulting representative samples are collected in the two included stainless steel receptacles positioned neatly under the chutes. This process can be repeated as needed to obtain a smaller, manageable sample size for testing without compromising the material's integrity.
