Its primary function is to encase the tail of the tendon and the anchor wedges where they meet the form. After the concrete has cured and the tendon is stressed, this pocket provides clear access for workers to cut the excess cable. The pocket former's large, open-style cavity allows the trimmed cable and wedges to be bent inward and then sealed with grout. This critical step eliminates exposure to the elements, effectively preventing rust and corrosion that could compromise the structural integrity of the anchor system over time.
