To protect the high-purity agate bowl from damage and ensure longevity, each mortar is encased in a robust, shock-resistant aluminum shell.
This mortar is ideal for the fine grinding of soft to medium-hard, brittle, or fibrous materials. The agate construction makes it perfect for applications where metallic abrasion must be avoided, ensuring contamination-free sample preparation for sensitive analyses like XRF. It is widely used for processing materials such as soils, chemical products, pharmaceuticals, and plant matter.
For operation, a corresponding Grinding Ball must be purchased separately. It is recommended to use a grinding ball of the same material as the mortar to prevent cross-contamination and ensure optimal grinding results. The material of the grinding set (mortar and ball) should always be harder than the sample material being processed.
