Methylene Blue Powder Reagent is a 25g bottle used to mix with distilled water to create a Methylene Blue solution for methylene blue value (MBV) testing to determine the presence of the potentially harmful materials in fine aggregate. The 25g powder reagent makes enough solution for over 500 tests. It is included with the Methylene Blue Test Kit.

The Methylene Blue Value (MBV) of fine aggregate is a measure of the amount of potentially harmful fine material present such as clay and organic material. The MBV is simply a measure of the amount of reagent absorbed and is proportional to the amount of clay or organic material present.

Note: The powder reagent is light-sensitive and should be stored in a dark cabinet in foil-wrapped amber bottles, and it has a shelf life of 4-6 months when properly stored.
