Resistance measurements are unaffected by any stray interference signals that may be present in the earth during readings, due to the use of narrow band-pass filters centered at 97 Hz (the unit’s operating frequency). The meter uses a stable current source to generate a controlled at a specific frequency (97 Hz) for accurate measurements. The use of narrow band-pass filters at specific frequencies helps filter out harmonics and interference, ensuring precise readings.

Product Overview
Accurate soil resistivity measurements are fundamental to the design and maintenance of safe, efficient electrical grounding systems. The M.C. Miller Soil Resistivity Meter, 400A, is engineered to deliver precise soil resistivity data, helping you determine the best approach for installing ground rods and other earth ground systems. By connecting test leads and electrodes, this instrument measures the resistance of the soil, allowing you to assess factors such as moisture content and the presence of stray interference signals that can impact your results.
Designed for both reliability and ease of use, this meter is built to withstand the rigors of field testing. Its intuitive interface and clear display make it simple to read and interpret results, while the rugged construction ensures durability in challenging environments. The unit supports a variety of testing methods, including the widely recommended Wenner method and the Proctor Penetrometer Set, and can connect to a data logger to store and track readings over time—making it easy to monitor changes in soil compaction and soil resistivity and ensure your systems remain compliant with industry standards.
Whether you’re performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting existing installations, or conducting new site assessments, this meter adapts to your specific needs. Its compact, lightweight design means you can easily transport it to any job site, and its competitive pricing ensures you get exceptional value without compromising on quality. The meter is designed to meet the highest standards for accuracy and safety, providing reliable displays you can trust for every application—from electrical engineering and construction to geological and archaeological studies. If you need reliable weather meters and humidity meters for environmental monitoring, explore our wide selection.
With user safety in mind, the meter features a straightforward manufactured that reduces the risk of error or injury during testing. The ability to store and review, combined with robust resistance to interference, ensures that your measurements are both accurate and consistent. If you have questions about how this instrument can meet your specific requirements, or if you need more information about its capabilities, our team is ready to help. Contact us by email or phone, and let us assist you in finding the right solution for your soil resistivity testing needs.
