Our plastic concrete test cylinders are made from a non-absorbent, single-piece injected plastic mold for a consistent shape and dimensional integrity. These concrete test cylinders are climate resistant and have no expiration.
That's where our Screwdriver Style Concrete Cylinder Stripping Tool and T-Handle Stripping Tool come in—they speed up the process of stripping away that cured concrete from test cylinders. And with a rubber mallet with a 2.25in hard rubber face, you can get the cured concrete specimen mold out of the plastic cylinder. Our concrete cylinder molds come in a single, molded unit design. That consistent shape and dimensional tolerance come from that design. The flat surface on top makes it easy to get a smooth finish on your cylinder. A lip around the edge adds strength and helps keep the round sample centered in unbonded rings. That lip is designed to be easy to work with: the top lip ring is v-notched for stripping, and the molds themselves are built to last.
Those molds meet a range of standards-you can see them on our website, but some of the key ones include ASTM C-31, C-39, C-192, C-470 and AASHTO M-205, T-22, T-23, T-126 specifications. We also offer reusable sealing lids for moisture retention. Those lids are sold separately. You can get 36 molds per case, and they're made of plastic.
We offer two main sizes: 4 x 8 inches and 6 x 12 inches. The size you choose depends on the size of the aggregate in your concrete mix. The cylinder mold should be at least three times the size of that aggregate. You can get our molds with integral lids or with reusable lids that you can buy separately. Those lids have a slight domed shape with an internal ridge for a secure fit.
